Why is Vaping better for you than smoking?
Studies have taken place in regards to 'is vaping really better'? For a while, there was a big whohar over the uncertainty. The quick answer is, yes its better for you to vape than it is to smoke. But, I have found this isn't enough.
so here's why its better than smoking;
- Vaping significantly lower levels of the cancer-causing chemicals, TSNAs and VOCs.
- Vaping significantly lower levels of the toxic chemical NNAL (a by-product of exposure to TSNAs)
NNAL is a product formed after 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK) enters the body. NNK belongs to a group of chemicals called tobacco-specific n-nitrosamines (TSNA). This group of chemicals is found only in tobacco and tobacco products. Measuring NNAL in people’s urine is a reliable way to determine exposure to NNK for smokers, for non-smokers exposed to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), and for people who use smokeless tobacco products (chewing tobacco, snuff). Vaping eliminates this.
Not only are you helping yourself when you choose to vape instead of smoke but you could be helping those around you too. It is shocking to know that,
- Scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) measured NNAL in the urine of 5,212 nonsmoking participants aged six years and older who took part in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2007–2008. Smokers had NNAL levels that were about 50 to 150 times higher than in nonsmokers.
From a combination of studies and information collected it has been concluded that the use of e-cigarettes is 97% than conventional smoking.
but this isn't everything,
Regular tobacco cigarettes contain 7,000 chemicals, many of which are toxic. Many of these toxins have both short term and long term effects and some can be fatal.
Scientific research has shown, passive smoking is just as bad as smoking especially for pregnant women, children, the elderly and those with a compromised immune system. - So when you light up, you're not just harming you, you're harming everyone around you too. This is not the case with vaping as there are around 6990 fewer chemicals involved!
'Though studies are still ongoing on this topic, those that have been done so far strongly indicate that passive vaping poses little danger if any. In fact, what they have managed to show thus far is that passive vaping is a non-existent problem' (cancer research)
Smoking and vaping at the same time?
All studies to date have shown no evidence that vaping and smoking at the same time is worse for you than just smoking tobacco. But the main goal should always be to stop smoking traditional tobacco altogether, this is where you will see the best health benefits. Some people can stop smoking the moment they pick up an e-cigarette, but if you don't need to be hard on yourself, some people find it much easier to gradually reduce the number of cigarettes a day, take your time trying e-cigarettes and e-liquid to get your best match.
